Today, I’m talking with novelist Savannah Stuart. If you like what you read, please investigate her books at www.savannahstuartauthor.com.
A.C. James: Hello, Savannah. Please tell us something about yourself, where you’re based, and how you came to be a writer.
Savannah: Thanks so much for having me here today! ‘Savannah’ is the pseudonym for USA Today Bestselling author, Katie Reus. I write erotic romance under Savannah, live in the South and I just fell into writing out of a rabid love of reading romance.
A.C. James: I absolutely love reading romance. It used to be a closeted addiction but I came out of the closet 🙂 What genre do you generally write and what have you had published to-date? What do you think of eBooks?
Savannah: I write varying subgenres of erotic romance (contemporary, romantic suspense, paranormal and futuristic). I absolutely love e-books both as a writer and a reader. I’m a busy mom and let me tell you, I don’t leave the house without my Kindle.
A.C. James: Dito. It’s great to take your e-reader to the soccer field, doctor’s offices, etc. I’m a big believer in green living. Aside from children’s books it’s rather rare that I buy print editions. My mother in-law has even converted to a digital reader because of the adjustable font. Have you self-published? If so, what lead to you to become an indie author?
Savannah: Yes, I have and it was the best decision I ever made for my career. I’ve only self-published two novellas as Savannah but many more as Katie Reus. I write very fast and I love the control of being able to put out books for my readers in between my traditional releases.
A.C. James: So you’re more of a hybrid author. That’s fantastic! I do envy your fast writing ability. I only manage anywhere from 500 to 1500 words per day but shoot for 2K. Sometimes I make it and sometimes I don’t. Do you manage to write every day, and do you plot your stories or just get an idea and run with it?
Savannah: Yep, pretty much every day unless I’m editing or outlining and yes, I’m a plotter.
A.C. James: What point of view do you find most to your liking: first person or third person? Have you ever tried second person?
Savannah: Third person is my preference, though I would like to try first in the future. Second might be a bit hard for romance as it seems more suited to technical style writing and is not something I’ll ever try.
A.C. James: First person is good for drawing readers in very quickly but you have to be careful with the voice. Tell us more about Claiming His Mate and why it’s been such a big hit with your readers.
Savannah: It’s been about two years since I had a release as Savannah and I’ve had readers asking for more from my Crescent Moon series for a while so I think that’s why they’ve been so receptive to it. It’s a fun paranormal novella and this is the official description:
She thought the house was empty when she broke in…
When jaguar shifter Lauren Hayes breaks into an alpha’s home to steal back what rightfully belongs to her pride, she doesn’t expect to be tackled by Max McCray, second-in-command of the Kincaid wolf pack. As punishment for her crime the sexy wolf shifter demands that she stay with him for one week. Knowing she’ll start a war between her pride and his pack if she doesn’t, she has no other choice but to agree, even if the thought of being near him 24/7 makes her scared that she won’t be able to hide her growing attraction to him.
Now he has a week to make her his…
Max has waited months to make a move on the sexy jaguar shifter and now that she’s broken shifter rules, he’s not letting her go. He doesn’t care that he’s a wolf and she’s a jaguar, claiming her forever is the only thing that matters. Unfortunately, not everyone likes the idea of him being with a feline shifter. Max is forced to choose sides between Lauren and members of the pack he’s sworn allegiance to in order to protect the woman he knows is his destined mate.
A.C. James: Good to know where I can go grab a copy 😉 Thank you for interviewing today on my Paranormal Passion blog!
Savannah: Thanks again for having me!
A.C. James: And if you haven’t entered the Red, White, and Wolf Giveaway to win e-books from Savannah and other fantastic authors, I suggest you share your favorite leader of the pack in the comments section of this back-linked blog post.
