I love blogging. I love blogging as much as I love writing because it gives me the opportunity to talk to so many like-minded individuals. When I was a kid, I was a tomboy who practically lived in the limbs of trees and I was a huge book nerd. That last part has never changed. I’m sure there will be days when I don’t feel that way. Perhaps when I read my first negative review I’ll be tempted to reply with something less than eloquent and use a string of expletives to convey my point of view. Maybe when someone comments that I’m a retarded gerbil trying to eat my own head when they don’t like my writing or if I’ve presented an opinion they have vociferously argued against, I’ll hurl insults at my computer screen. Wait. I’ve already been there but instead of taking it personally, I laugh it off.

Those that share my affliction for reading, I’m sure can relate to my childhood post in an almost empty library. I stood in the once tiny section of YA books where I flipped through pages that were a beacon that guided me through adolescence. Throughout my life I have turned to poetry and prose to write the things you can’t say, turning reality into a gritty fantasy world. Those stories I’ve kept close to my heart. Never had I considered sharing them with anyoneuntil now.
And the thing is none of the negativity outweighs the satisfaction I get when I hear positive feedback. The petty words of trolls mean nothing when writing gives me the opportunity to meet interesting people who have provided endless opportunities for learning. I’m especially thankful that I have been toughening up and working on my alligator skin. You can’t please everyone. Not everyone is going to like what I write or share the same opinion as me. Thank god for that because the world would be an awfully boring place if everyone agreed with me. Recently, I received my first piece of fan mail which had me doing a happy dance that looked something like Napoleon:

So Kristale… Thank you for your email on 5/22! You absolutely made my day!

I hope everyone is having a fantastic holiday weekend cooking out with friends and family. If you haven’t shared who your favorite romance hero is in my Sizzling, Hot, Memorial Day Giveaway then you have until tomorrow night to leave a comment for a chance to win free e-books and prizes. As to my favorite romance hero… Well he’s hardly paranormal but I have the hots for Søren, a wicked hot Catholic priest, who’s a bit of a sadist.
